The Place of Space: Trans-Atlantic Discussions on the (Peaceful) Use of Outer Space
People and institutions from around the world are turning their attention to the stars. This focus on outer space is accelerating its role as a site of commercial, cultural, military, and scientific confluence. Recent events such as the alleged near-collision of satellites with space stations, the shooting down of satellites in debris-generating events, and growing adoption of the Artemis Accords demonstrate the need to discuss the use of space. In this series, we will explore the historical origins of the creation of space as a place, examine the actors and forces in contest with one another for space today, and invite the audience to create the future of space as the 21st century progresses.
